Statement of Faith

I believe in one God who is eternally existent in three persons, both distinct and simultaneous: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  I believe all three are the one God, not three separate gods, and not one person who took three forms (Isaiah 44:6-8).

I believe that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1-2) and that He is the creator of all things (Genesis 1:1, Mark 12:29, Matthew 3:16-17). I believe there is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh.  He is both God and man (Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:16).

I believe that through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, he made the way for us to receive healing for our mind, body, and emotions (Matthew 9:6-7 and 10:1, Luke 9:1-2).  Although we may not always see or experience healing, we continue to pray in faith, believing that it is God’s desire for His children to be whole (Matthew 8:7-8 and 13).

I believe that in the Person of the Holy Spirit, Christ lives within His people, reproducing His holy character within us, empowering us to be His witnesses to the world (Luke 24:45-49, Mark 16:15-18), and equipping us with spiritual gifts to do the works of the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

I believe the Bible is the spoken word of God, (Thessalonians 2:13) and that we should allow the word of God to dwell within us (Colossians 3:16).  I believe that we should strive to do what the Word says and not simply just listen to it (James 1:21-23) as it is through the Holy Scriptures, we may be made wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (Timothy 3:15-17).

I belief Satan comes only to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10).  I believe that we must submit ourselves to God and resist the devil so that he may flee (James 4:7).

I believe that we all sin and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) but that God’s love never falters or fails and that it endures forever (Psalm 136).  I believe that it is by grace we have been saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) and that our God is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness (Psalm 86:15).

I believe that Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-28) and that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, that you will be saved (Romans 10:9-13).  I believe the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
